Trinity Stone

L-R: Azi, Jade and Cherri

It's the Trinity right now!

Every little girl's dream is to become a pop star; dressing up in their mother's clothes and singing in the mirror to old school Madonna tracks.  Every female can relate to this dream, but for Trinity Stone they have managed to make it reality.

As I walked into the meeting room to meet Trinity Stone, I am greeted by a bundle of excitement from three bubbly girls, who has just received their fabulous photo shoots. Vibing off their energy this interview was more like a social chat; these girls have got the correct attitude for this industry.

Trinity Stone is a great name for the girls as 'trinity' means three and the 'stone' represents variety within the three individuals in the group; these girls feel they have a lot to offer the world. "We focus on vocal points, it's about the harmony we can show as a group and individually we can hold are own.  We all have something unique to offer".

With Jade being the youngest in the group, only aged 19, the half-Sicilian babe doesn't let her age come into the equation. Taking over the interview, the bubbly member explains that she's not just a pretty face; she can sing and dance and entertain the crowd.  "When I was younger I used to do a lot of ballet, tap, jazz and acting".  With these amazing talents in process, Jade furthered her musical career by attending many auditions.  She would often spot familiar face Azi; getting acquainted they both thought it would be great to start a girl band.  Azi explains the process, "Me and Jade become friends through the auditioning circuit.  We kept bumping into each other, so we started to do some writing".  Needing another female to complete the jigsaw Cherri came into the picture and the rest is history.

Being appointed the mother of the Trinity Stone family Cherri likes to keep the other girls on their toes.  She begins to explain how serious she is to succeed in the music industry. Gaining a lot of advice from her auntie, Mica Paris, Cherri explains that she is clued up about the industry.  "My auntie has told me to stay grounded and stay focused and to take things in my stride as this is a tough industry."  She continues, "She's been really supportive, she loves Trinity Stone and our music".  With Cherri's auntie backing her all the way and proud of the group signing with major record label Sony BMG, things can only get better for Trinity Stone.

Believing there is enough space in this industry for everybody to get a slice of the pie Trinity Stone, feel that there is no female competition.  Being 'out of the box' this unique girl band inhale different styles to create their own music.   Growing up listening to acoustic music such as The Cranberries, and R&B stars like Mariah Carey, these girls are set to offer something that has never been heard before.

Adding their own spices to the cooking pot Azi tells us with her deep husky voice, that her style in the group is more like T Boz from TLC, with deep hard vocals.  The other two members of the group say their style is influenced by Mariah Carey and gospel singers such as The Clark Sisters.  Describing their sound as a more acoustic set, and song based, the girls say, "you can expect a few club beats"; however they tend to focus on the lyrics, which provide real substance.

With their album well on the way, Trinity Stone reveal that their material is very diverse ranging from African beats to 80's electro sound. "The album varies.  It has acoustic sounds, Caribbean beats, African beats and electro sounds.  We can't really put a sound to it, but when you hear are material you will definitely know that it's Trinity Stone".

Working with Earl Shakacarlin who has worked with Usher, Jo Jo and Whitney Houston these girls are heading in the right direction to have a strong music career. Wanting to work with music guru Timbaland is another goal on the Trinity Stone list, which I don't doubt will become reality.

Loving the Dublin accent Azi spills the beans on band member Jade, that at times she can be a bit scatty as she struggles to open the door, even though she has been living at their accommodation for months.  Living together the girls feel like they're one big happy family and it gives the girls a great opportunity to sing and practice routines as they believe it's important for them to fully entertain the crowd besides just singing.  "We've had the privilege to perform in front of 20,000 to 80,000 people; we love to entertain.  We may be tired at times but the minute you get on stage a new source of energy comes and because we enjoy what we are doing it makes it fun.  It's never a chore".

Doing countless road shows the girls explain the wonderful experience they had performing live at a recent urban showcase.  "It was the best performance of my life, doing a live band set with just a drummer, guitarist and base player.  We were so nervous as we had to do an acqupella, but that's our strong point. We just wanted to deliver, but there's always that added pressure of if you mess up that's it.  But the way it went, it seemed to get better and better throughout the whole performance and by the end, we were just having so much fun.  The fans were really supportive".

Busy doing road shows, a video shoot for their single 'Move a Little Closer' and finishing their album in LA, the girls are hoping for a positive response from the world.  Being nominated for a MOBO award wouldn't go a miss either for the girls as they explain, "We just want to build our fan base and become a household name and we want a MOBO nomination next year. Please, please support us".

Watch this space because these girls are gonna be big with a capital 'B'.
