WIN A NEW ALBUM HERE ON EUT!!!

Music seems to run in the blood for the Norwood family. Growing up in a family heavily influenced by music, Ray J, the younger brother of R&B songstress Brandy, has worked hard at establishing his own identity in the world of entertainment.

Ray J first hit our screens in 1999 starring in the hugely successful American sitcom Moesha. Since then the R&B star has gained overnight success stateside, having followed in the musical footsteps of his Grammy award winning sister. Last year Ray J wowed viewers with his presenting skills, hosting the BET top 10 countdown and has recently secured a deal with VH1 to present his own reality TV dating show, due for release next year. At the tender age of 27, he recently set up his own record label "Knockout Entertainment", proving Ray J is certainly working his way up to becoming the next big thing.

With his hot new single "Sexy Can I" having just been released in the UK, followed by his forth studio album "All I Feel", EUT caught up with the growing sensation during his promotional trip to London to talk women, reality TV and what's next for the man himself.

EUT: Hey Ray J how are you? How you enjoying London?
It's been good.  We are actually spending an extra day here just to hang out and feel the vibe of the city. It's been so good.

EUT: What brings you to London and what have you been up to during your stay?
We are here to promote the new single "Sexy Can I", and the new album which just came out in the UK, it's called "All I Feel". During our time here, we got to perform at a couple of clubs, Cafe De Paris and the Choice FM after party at the Indigo O2; we also performed at the Notting Hill Carnival in front of millions of people. It was crazy that was like the highlight of the visit.

EUT: You must be excited about the release of the album and single?
Yeah im always excited! Running my new label Knockout Entertainment and being able to get an international deal with universal so that we can get the music over here is a blessing so we're happy.

EUT: Taking you back a bit, tell us how you got into music?
I started when I was 13 doing various acting roles, and then my sister (Brandy Norwood) inspired me  to start my musical career, so that I could do something where I could be myself and incorporate my life as part of my music, so I started young. Then when I was 17/18 I started feeling the vibe and found that music was what I really wanted to be doing.

EUT: You grew up in a musical family, so what artists inspired you as you were growing up?I grew up listening to artists such as Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder.

EUT: You're obviously known for your acting having starred in shows such as Moesha and One on One. Do you have any more plans to act?
Im going into reality for a while, and then im going to try and start getting into movies also.

EUT: Tell me a bit about the dating reality show you have coming up.......
Yeah, I have a show coming out on VH1. We haven't worked the title yet, but it doesn't come out until summer time so we'll have everything right by then. The show is based on my life. I made a deal with VH1, because they were saying I couldn't settle down, so they wanted to make a show for me where they could make me settle down and find some people for me whilst incorporating my music and my life as part of the show. It's based on my love life and my musical life at the same time.  It's going to be good and out of control!

EUT: How do you feel about the constant link to your sister Brandy? Have you found it difficult to establish your own identity?

Not really. When I was young I really wasn't thinking about it, I was really just trying to enjoy the ride! At first I didn't want to do this, I just wanted to hang out and be a teenager and do teenage things that would often get me into trouble! So Brandy used to encourage me to come out on the road with her so that I could change my life and start thinking about positive things. She inspired me to get into the game, so I never thought it was difficult I always thought it was just a blessing. So being here was kind of where I was going.

EUT: Will we see you working together in the future?
Yeah, definitely. Hopefully we will tour and do some music together in the future; it's something we are working on right now.

EUT: You've worked with a lot of people in the business like Lil Kim, T-Pain and most recently Yung Berg. Who would be your dream collaborator?

I would have to say Jay-Z, I'd love to be able to get into the studio with the bigga man.

EUT: You have your own label "Knockout Entertainment" what inspired you to set that up?
I started my label around the time I released my first song "One Wish" from my last album "Raydiation".  I wanted to do things like Jay Z and Puffy – the good movers of the game. They make the most of their money when they bring stuff out and that's what I want to do, make good music and money at the same time.

EUT: Is there a special lady in your life right now?
I'm definitely single right now. It's difficult to be locked down in a relationship when you are so busy travelling the world doing promotional tours.

EUT: Describe your ideal woman?
My ideal woman would be a regular woman, a nice wholesome girl, someone who is kind of low key. I've got a couple of friends right now that are in the lime light and we hang out and have fun but I think my ideal woman would be someone happy at home, relaxing  and working in her own world doing regular things.

EUT: Describe your ideal date?
I would keep it nice and simple. A nice restaurant, nice food, a nice bottle of wine and that's pretty much it. Have a talk about things, get to know each other and then round the night up.

EUT: Where has been the best place you have performed?
I'd say Carnival because that's like on the globe. I've never performed in front of millions of people; I've never done anything like that. That was the first time I had experienced something on that scale, and we had such a great time doing it.

EUT: Any plans for a UK tour?
Yeah im kinda working on a deal internationally so that I can really promote the way I feel over here. I want to spend some time in the UK trying to establish my career and my music like I have in the states. I want to hit that scale over here in the UK, like I have done back home.

EUT: What do you do to chill out?
Watch movies and order room service if im out of town or on vacation. If im at home I just like to lay low in my crib, playing some music and just relaxing.

EUT: Tell us three things we might not know about Ray J?
I really don't like to party too much; I like to lie low, work hard, making good use of my time and chilling out. Im running my own company, I wanna make it independent so everything you see that I put out is under my own label, so we are handling all the business side of things ourselves by being "Knockout Entertainment". What else.........I don't sleep with any clothes on!

EUT: What's next for Ray-J?
The VH1 reality show, we have a new artist coming out on the label called Shorty Mac – so watch out for him. Im also doing a new "Knock Out" compilation which we will hopefully get released in the UK too.

EUT: Anything else you would like to add.......
All I wanna say is the single "Sexy Can I" is out right now, so make sure you buy your copy,  get the ringtone, it sold 3,000,000.00 copies in the states and we want to do something over here like that. The album is out in the stores now, so make sure you check it out. All I can say is we are looking forward to seeing what happens.

The new single "Sexy Can I" and album "All I feel" is out now.
